In 2020, the Club’s Committee introduced a new level of recognition – the Mazda MX-5 Club of Victoria & Tasmania Hall of Fame.
The recognition stands above Honorary Life Membership and recognises individuals who have made a Remarkable Contribution to the Club.
Induction to the Club’s Hall of Fame is only conferred on a Club member in highly-exceptional circumstances, at the absolute discretion of the Committee, and in a ratio of one Hall of Fame inductee for every five Honorary Life Members.
A nominee must:
- have completed a minimum period of 15 years of membership
- display a general attitude and overall demeanour that reflects a dedication to the values of the Club as expressed in the Club’s Statement of Purposes and Rules
- have demonstrated a Remarkable Contribution to the Club for a period in excess of 10 years

Ken Beaton [Awarded posthumously] (citation) | ![]() | 2024 | Club member since April 1999 Honorary Life Member 2014 Inaugural Convenor/Chapter Captain, Northern Tasmania Chapter 2008-2011 Ken’s contribution over almost 25 years was truly remarkable. His enthusiasm for the car and the Club led directly to the formation of the Northern Tasmania Chapter. By any measure, Ken was a larger-than-life character in the history of the Chapter and the Club as a whole. He was a very regular participant in many Club and national MX-5 activities and an influential mentor for MX-5 drivers who crossed his path. Ken's contribution prior to his passing was very much worthy of recognition and induction to the Club’s Hall of Fame. | |||
